108 Days of Practice Begins

Starting a new practice routine is much like starting a new workout routine-- the most difficult part of the undertaking is beginning.  Cause for delaying the start are many, and reasoning legitimate.
"Pump up your practice routine!"

So it has been for my beginning the "108 Days of Practice."  However, I finally decided to pick a date and go with it.

Day 1 is set for Monday, 25 July.

To get the most out of my practice, I drafted a plan:

     - Minimum 30min practice each day
     - Identify and focus on improving weaknesses.

Goal:
     - Improve my timing (utilizing a metronome)
     - Quick recall of note location throughout the fingerboard
     - Learn additional songs. Practicing specific lines in chunks, analyzing each

Along the way I will chronicle my progress on this blog, and note how I am integrating new skills into my playing.  Integration is key as it will help maintain focus to any modifications to the routine.

Outside of the 108 Days of Practice, I have a few other treats in store...

Lastly, motivation for this project is to intentionally improve my playing, while encouraging others to practice as well.

Week one is sure to be a lot of fun, so...

Stay tuned & in tune!
